Berikut ini adalah nama-nama tempat yang disebutkan dalam Perjanjian Baru di Alkitab Kristen
Berhubungan dengan Yesus Kristus sunting
Galilea sunting
- Ainon (Ænon) - sebuah tempat dekat "Salim" di tepi sungai Yordan di mana Yohanes Pembaptis membaptiskan orang-orang yang datang kepadanya "sebab di situ banyak air" (Yohanes 3:23).[1][2]
- Betsaida - antara lain tempat penyembuhan seorang buta (Markus 8)[3][4]
- Genesaret: Kota yang sekarang sudah tidak ada lagi ini terletak di pantai barat laut Danau Galilea (juga disebut "Danau Genesaret"). Sejarawan Yahudi-Romawi abad ke-1 Flavius Yosefus menyebutkan bahwa daerah itu mempunyai tanah subur.[5] Kota ini diduga berada di tengah antara Kapernaum dan Magdala.[6]Matius 14:34–36; Markus 6:53–56.
- Gunung Transfigurasi: Lokasi pasti gunung tempat Transfigurasi Yesus masih diperdebatkan, dengan berbagai usulan antara lain Gunung Tabor.[7]
- Kana - tempat Yesus Kristus mengadakan mukjizat pertama-Nya, "mengubah air menjadi anggur", dalam sebuah perkawinan di kota ini (Yohanes 2)[8].[9][10]
- Kapernaum ("desa Nahum") - [11] disebut berkali-kali dalam kitab-kitab Injil, bahkan dianggap sebagai kota kediaman Yesus, dan tempat Ia membuat mujizat antara lain penyembuhan seorang lumpuh.[12]
- Khorazim - sebuah desa di Galilea yang disebut dalam kecaman Yesus atas tempat-tempat yang menolak pemberitaan-Nya (Matius 11:21 dan Luke 10:13-15)
- Nain tempat Yesus Kristus membangkitkan seorang laki-laki muda yang mati (Lukas 7).[13][14]
- Nazaret: tempat Yesus Kristus dibesarkan.[15]
- Danau Galilea - tempat penting dalam pelayanan Yesus sejak pertama kali dimulai sampai menjelang kenaikan-Nya ke sorga. Perjumpaan Yesus dengan murid-murid pertamanya bertempat di tepi danau ini.[16][17] Sesudah kebangkitan-Nya dari kematian, Yesus bertemu dengan para murid-Nya di tepi danau ini dengan mukjizat penangkapan 153 ekor ikan.[18][19]
Dekapolis dan Perea sunting
- Betabara:[1] Tempat ini tidak sama dengan desa Betania (3 km di sebelah timur Yerusalem), melainkan kota Betania yang dalam sebagian besar naskah Alkitab bahasa Yunani disebut "Betabara" di Perea.[2]

- Gerasa (juga Gergesa atau Gadara) - tempat Yesus Kristus mengusir setan yang berjumlah banyak dan kemudian memasuki babi-babi (Gerasene demoniac) yang tercatat dalam Matius 8, Markus 5 dan Lukas 8.[21][22]

- Betania (3 km sebelah timur Yerusalem) - kota tempat tingal Maria, Marta dan Lazarus, tempat Lazarus dibangkitkan dari kematian, beberapa waktu sebelum kematian Yesus (Yohanes 11)[29] Betania dekat sungai Yordan pada Yohanes 1:28 merujuk pada kota yang terletak lebih ke utara di wilayah Perea, yang pada sebagian besar naskah kuno bahasa Yunani disebut Betabara.[2]
- Betesda - Yohanes 5[30][31]
- Betlehem - tempat kelahiran Yesus Kristus menurut Injil Matius (Matius 2:1) dan Injil Lukas (Lukas 2)[32][33][34]
- Betfage Matius 21:1; Markus 11:1; Lukas 19:29[35][36] Eusebius dari Kaisarea (Onomasticon 58:13) menempatkannya di Bukit Zaitun.[36]
- Kalvari (Golgota) tempat Penyaliban Yesus menurut Perjanjian Baru.[37]

- Gabata (Lithostrōtos): Yohanes 19:13.[40][41] [42]
- Getsemani - Setelah Perjamuan terakhir, Yesus dan para murid-Nya pergi ke sebuah taman di Getsemani. Disitulah Yesus ditangkap.[43]

- Mesir - Tidak berapa lama setelah dilahirkan dan dikunjungi oleh orang-orang Majus dari Timur, Yesus Kristus dilarikan ke Mesir oleh Yusuf dan Maria dari Betlehem, karena terancam dibunuh oleh raja Herodes. Selang beberapa tahun kemudian keluarga itu meninggalkan Mesir dan menetap di Nazaret, Galilea, sampai Yesus Kristus memulai pelayanan-Nya (Matius 2).[50][51][52]
