Kang Ji-hyun (Hangul: 강지현; lahir pada 12 Februari 1992) atau lebih dikenal dengan nama panggung Soyou (소유) adalah penyanyi dan aktris asal Korea Selatan. Ia dikenal sebagai anggota dari grup penyanyi wanita Sistar di bawah naungan Starship Entertainment. Pada tahun 2021, SOYOU resmi keluar dari Starship Entertainment dan pada tahun yang sama SOYOU mentandatangani kontrak eksklusif dengan Big Planet Made Entertainment untuk kelanjutan karirnya di masa depan.

Biografi sunting

Soyou lahir pada 12 Februari 1992[1] di Pulau Jeju, Korea Selatan. Soyou dulu adalah seorang trainee Cube Entertainment sebelum debut bersama SISTAR[2] dan awalnya direncanakan untuk debut sebagai anggota 4Minute. Soyou mengatakan bahwa ia tidak berhasil bergabung dengan grup tersebut karena ia kurang dalam banyak hal. Ia seharusnya berada di posisi Sohyun.[3] Soyou lalu mengikuti audisi Starship Entertainment[4] dan berhasil debut sebagai anggota SISTAR.

Pada Juni 2010, Soyou memulai debutnya sebagai anggota Sistar di program musik KBS Music Bank dengan singel debut mereka, "Push Push".[5]

Karier solo sunting

Pada 6 Agustus 2010, Soyou bersama Woo dari J2 berkolaborasi untuk soundtrack drama Gloria. Pada 17 September 2010, Soyou juga menyanyikan soundtrack resmi untuk drama MBC, Playful Kiss. Lagu tersebut berjudul "Should I Confess".[6]

Pada 1 November 2012, Soyou menyanyikan duet bersama duo hip hop Geeks yang berjudul "Officially Missing You, Too", sebuah versi remake untuk lagu Tamia dengan judul yang sama. Lagu ini menjadi bagian dari album proyek Geeks, Re;Code Episode 1, yang dirilis oleh LOEN Entertainment.[7] Pada 29 November 2012, Soyou juga merilis sebuah lagu sebagai bagian dari Starship Planet 2012 bersama dengan K.Will & Jeongmin Boyfriend berjudul "White Love".[8]

Pada 15 Juli 2013, terungkap bahwa Souou akan tampil dalam acara MBC Star Diving Show Splash bersama dengan Kwon Yuri, Choi Minho dan lainnya.[9] Pada 6 September 2013, diumumkan bahwa Soyou bersama Mad Clown akan merilis sebuah duet berjudul "Stupid in Love" pada 10 September.[10]

Pada 1 Februari 2014, terungkap bahwa Soyou dan JunGiGo akan merilis sebuah duet berjudul "Some".[11]

Soyou bersama dengan Lee Ha-nui dan Kim Jung Min akan menjadi MC baru untuk program tips kecantikan berjudul Get It Beauty pada tahun 2015. Episode pertamanya ditayangkan pada 4 Februari 2015.[12]
