Daniel Jonathan Stevens[1] (lahir 10 Oktober 1982)[2] adalah aktor asal Inggris. Dia dikenal melalui perannya sebagai Matthew Crawley dalam serial TV Downton Abbey, David di film The Guest, Sir Lancelot di Night at the Museum: Secret of the Tomb dan Beast dalam film adaptasi Disney Beauty and the Beast. Kehidupan awal sunting

Stevens lahir di Croydon, London.[3] Ia diadopsi saat baru lahir oleh sepasang guru, dan kemudian dibesarkan di Wales dan Inggris tenggara.[4][5] Ia memiliki seorang adik laki-laki yang diadopsi dari keluarga lain.[5] Stevens bersekolah di Tonbridge School, sebuah sekolah asrama di Kent. Di sana ia mulai tertarik dengan teater setelah mengikuti audisi untuk peran utama dalam Macbeth dengan gurunya, novelis Jonathan Smith.[6][7] Sejak umur 15, ia menghabiskan musim panasnya dengan latihan dan pentas bersama National Youth Theatre di London.[8]

Tur ini menggelar pertunjukan di Rose Theatre di Kingston, Brooklyn Academy of Music di New York City, Curran Theatre di San Francisco, serta Ahmanson Theatre di Los Angeles. Kehidupan pribadi sunting

Pada tahun 2009, Stevens menikah dengan penyanyi jazz dan guru vokal asal Afrika Selatan, Susie Hariet. Keduanya bertemu pada tahun 2006, saat sama-sama tampil di teater di Sheffield.[3] Mereka dikaruniai anak perempuan bernama Willow (lahir tahun 2009), anak laki-laki bernama Aubrey (lahir tahun 2012), dan anak ketiga bernama Eden (lahir tahun 2016).[49][50] Aktris Rebecca Hall yang juga merupakan sahabatnya sejak bangku kuliah adalah wali baptis dari putri pertamanya, Willow.[51]

Stevens saat ini tinggal di Brooklyn, New York City setelah pindah bersama keluarganya ke Amerika Serikat pada tahun 2012.[52]
