"Swine" adalah lagu dari penyanyi-penulis lagu asal Amerika Serikat, Demi Lovato. Lagu ini dirilis sebagai singel amal melalui Island Records pada 22 Juni 2023. Lagu ini ditulis oleh Lovato bersama dengan Laura Veltz , Upsahl dan produsernya Warren "Oak" Felder, Alex Niceforo dan Keith "Ten4" Sorrells. Musik video dari lagu ini dirilis bersamaan dengan hari rilis lagu.

Latar belakang dan komposisi sunting
Lovato merilis lagu ini sebagai kejutan pada 22 Juni 2023, Lovato menjelaskan asal-usulnya di media sosial: "Sudah satu tahun sejak keputusan Mahkamah Agung mencabut hak konstitusional atas aborsi yang aman, dan meskipun jalan ke depan akan menantang., kita harus terus bersatu dalam memperjuangkan keadilan reproduksi."[1]
Lagu ini dirilis sebagai lagu protes dua hari sebelum peringatan atas satu tahunnya keputusan Mahkamah Agung untuk membatalkan Roe v. Wade.[2] Selama periode satu tahun, laba bersih Lovato dari "Swine" akan disumbangkan ke Dana Keadilan Reproduksi Yayasan Demi Lovato, yang akan disalurkan ke tiga organisasi nirlaba: NARAL Pro-Choice America, Plan C dan National Network of Abortion Funds.[3]
"Swine" digambarkan sebagai lagu pop-punk[2] dan "lagu rock dan nu metal".[4] Billboard menggambarkan lagu ini sebagai "Lovato yang paling marah", dan "dipicu oleh kemarahan yang benar".[5]
Musik video sunting
Musik video lagu ini disutradarai oleh Meriel O'Connell dan diproduksi oleh Jagger Corcione dan Becca Standt.[6] Musik video lagu ini menerima dua nominasi di MTV Video Music Awards 2023, dalam kategori Video Terbaik dengan Pesan Sosial dan Video Pop Terbaik.[7]
Penampilan langsung sunting
Lovato membawakan lagu ini di Wonderbus Music & Arts Festival di Columbus, Ohio pada 26 Agustus 2023. Ia juga membawakannya di The Town Festival edisi pertama, pada 2 September 2023.[8]
