Sebuah organotrof adalah organisme yang memperoleh hidrogen atau elektron dari substrat organik. Istilah ini digunakan dalam mikrobiologi untuk mengklasifikasikan dan menjelaskan organisme berdasarkan bagaimana mereka mendapatkan elektron untuk proses respirasi mereka. Beberapa organotrof seperti hewan dan banyak bakteri, juga heterotrof. Organotrof dapat berupa anaerobik atau aerobik. Antonim: Litotrof, kata sifat: Organotrofik.
