Kapal penjelajah tempur (Inggris: Battlecruiser; Jerman:Schlachtkreuzer) adalah jenis kapal tempur yang dari ukuran besar dan persenjataan dapat dibandingkan dengan kapal perang dan dari ukuran kecepatan dapat di bandingkan dengan kapal penjelajah. Kedua keunggulan ini harus dibayar dengan penggunaan lapisan baja lebih tipis atau persenjataan dengan daya tembak yang lebih lemah.
