Craig A. Evans
Craig Alan Evans (lahir 21 Januari 1952) adalah seorang sarjana bidang Perjanjian Baru Alkitab Kristen dan pengarang beraliran evangelikal asal Amerika Serikat. Ia banyak menulis dalam bidang "Yesus sebagai tokoh dalam sejarah", kritisisme tekstual Perjanjian Baru, dan masa-masa awal Kekristenan.

suntingEvans meraih gelar "Bachelor of Arts" dalam bidang sejarah dan filsafat dari Claremont McKenna College, gelar "Master of Divinity" dari Western Baptist Seminary di Portland, Oregon, dan gelar "Master of Arts" serta "Ph.D." dalam Studi Alkitab dari Claremont Graduate University di Kalifornia selatan.
Dia menjabat sebagai "Payzant Distinguished Professor of New Testament" dan direktur program pasca-sarjana pada Acadia Divinity College di Wolfville, Nova Scotia.[1][2] Sebelum datang ke Acadia, ia menjadi "visiting assistant professor of religious studies" pada McMaster University dan seorang profesor bidang studi Alkitab pada Trinity Western University.[2] Penelitian yang dilakukan Evans membawanya pada berbagai konferensi dengan topik termasuk Gulungan Laut Mati,[1] hal-hal yang berhubungan dengan gambaran dan persepsi mengenai Yesus Kristus[3] dan arkeologi Alkitab.[4] Ia banyak menulis mengenai "Yesus sebagai tokoh dalam sejarah" dan latar belakang Yahudi pada zaman Perjanjian Baru.
