Wally Dallenbach Sr.
Wally Dallenbach Sr. (lahir 12 Desember 1936) adalah mantan pembalap mobil Indy dari East Brunswick Township, New Jersey, AS.[1] Dia mengemudi dalam 180 balapan IndyCar antara tahun 1965 dan 1979, menang lima kali. Dia adalah ayah dari pengemudi dan komentator NASCAR, Wally Dallenbach, Jr.
Dallenbach hampir memenangkan Indianapolis 500 1975, berduel dengan A.J. Foyt selama beberapa putaran. Dia memimpin selama setengah balapan, tetapi membakar piston di lap 162, dua belas lap sebelum balapan dibatalkan karena hujan. Bobby Unser memenangkan balapan, yang dihentikan pada putaran 174 (435 mil).
Ia bergabung dengan CART sebagai direktur kompetisi pada 1980 dan menjadi kepala pelayan olahraga pada 1981, posisi yang dipegangnya hingga 2004. Dallenbach terpilih ke dalam Colorado Motorsports Hall of Fame.
Dia akan dilantik ke dalam Motorsports Hall of Fame of America pada 17 Maret 2020.[2]
Dia adalah saudara dari mantan pengawas Pillar of Fire International Robert Barney Dallenbach.[3]
