Timothy Olyphant
Timothy David Olyphant (/ˈɔːləfɪnt/; AHL-ə-fint; lahir 20 Mei 1968) merupakan seorang aktor dan produser Amerika Serikat. Ia dikenal sebagai aktor dalam film Scream 2 (1997), Go (1999), A Man Apart (2003), The Girl Next Door (2004), Catch and Release (2006), Hitman (2007), Live Free or Die Hard (2007), A Perfect Getaway (2009), The Crazies (2010) dan Once Upon a Time in Hollywood (2019).

Latar belakang sunting
Timothy Olyphant lahir di Honolulu, Hawaii, tetapi ia pindah ke Modesto, California pada usia dua tahun.[1] Orang tuanya adalah J. V. Bevan Olyphant, yang bekerja sebagai wakil presiden produksi di E & J Gallo Winery, dan Katherine (née Gideon).[2][3][4][5][6] Ia memiliki satu kakak, Andrew, dan satu adik, Matthew.[7] Orang tuanya bercerai ketika ia masih remaja, lalu keduanya menikah lagi.[8][9][10] Ia berketurunan Inggris, Jerman, Skotlandia, Belanda, Irlandia dan keturunan Rusia-Yahudi kedelapan.[11]
Ia adalah keturunan keluarga Vanderbilt dari New York. Kakek buyut keempat dari pihak ibunya adalah kepala keluarga Cornelius Vanderbilt. Kakek buyut ketiganya adalah William Henry Vanderbilt, yang memiliki kekayaan keluarga dari usaha kereta api. Nenek buyutnya adalah sosialita Emily Thorn Vanderbilt dan Emily Vanderbilt Sloane. Paman buyutnya adalah produser musik John Hammond.[12][13] Nama belakangnya berasal dari Skotlandia.[1] Kakek buyut keempat dari pihak ayahnya, Dr. David Olyphant, lahir di Skotlandia dan menjabat sebagai presiden direktur rumah sakit wilayah Selatan selama Perang Revolusi Amerika Serikat.[14] Kakek buyut ketiganya, David Olyphant, dan buyut buyutnya, Robert Morrison Olyphant, sama-sama pengusaha terkemuka.[13][15][16]
