Kontroversi Karmapa

Pelantikan Karmapa Ketujuh belas, kepala Buddhisme Tibet sekte Karma Kagyu, menjadi subjek kontroversi.^[1] Sejak kematian Karmapa keenam belas, Rangjung Rigpe Dorje, pada 1981, dua kandidat diajukan:

Thaye Dorje lahir pada 6 Mei 1983 di Lhasa, Tibet. Ayahnya adalah Mipham Rinpoche, reinkarnasi dari lama aliran Nyingma paling berpengaruh.
