Komunikasi ilmiah

Komunikasi ilmiah adalah bagian dari ilmu informasi yang berkaitan dengan penciptaan, penerbitan, penyebaran, dan penemuan penelitian ilmiah, terutama kaitannya dengan jurnal dan buku yang mengalami proses penelaahan sejawat (bahasa Inggris: peer review). "Komunikasi ilmiah merupakan sistem yang di dalamnya terdapat proses menciptakan hasil penelitian dan karya ilmiah lainnya, proses evaluasi, proses penyebarannya ke masyarakat ilmiah, dan proses preservasi untuk penggunaan di masa depan." Sistem komunikasi ilmiah umumnya berkaitan dengan jurnal ilmiah, buku, dan prosiding konferensi yang ditelaah sejawat.
