Kehidupan awal sunting

McPhee lahir di Los Angeles, California.] Ayahnya, Daniel McPhee, adalah seorang produser televisi. Ibunya, Peisha (née Burch) McPhee, telah menjadi pelatih vokal di American Idol sejak 2011. Setelah berkencan selama tiga tahun, pada 2 Februari 2008, McPhee menikah dengan Nick Cokas di Gereja Presbyterian Beverly Hills. Pada Oktober 2013 dia difoto di depan umum mencium direktur Smash yang sudah menikah, Michael Morris. Morris saat itu dan masih menikah dengan aktris Mary McCormack dan ayah dari tiga putri. Pada 22 Mei 2014, McPhee mengajukan gugatan cerai dari Cokas, setelah "dipisahkan tahun lalu." Cerai perceraiannya dari Cokas diselesaikan pada 8 Februari 2016.

McPhee berkencan dengan rekan main Scorpion-nya Elyes Gabel selama hampir dua tahun. Mereka berpisah pada 2016. Dia bertunangan dengan produser rekaman David Foster pada Juni 2018. Mereka menikah setahun kemudian pada 28 Juni 2019 di Gereja Apostolik Armenia St. Yeghiche di Kensington, London.[8]
