C.W.(BILL) WATSON retired in 2008 from the University of Kent in the UK where he taught in the School of Anthropology. Since then he has been teaching in the School of Business and Management at the Bandung Institute of Technology (ITB). Over the years he has written several articles relating to the history, anthropology, and literature of modern Indonesia. His books include Of Self and Injustice (2006), Multiculturalism (2000) and Kinship, Property and Inheritance in Kerinci, Central Sumatra (1992). He has been reading modern Sundanese literature, after a fashion, since 2010.
