Pada 31 Januari 2011, David Luiz bergabung ke [[Chelsea F.C.|Chelsea]] dari Benfica dengan biaya transfer dilaporkan €25&nbsp;juta ditambah Nemanja Matic bergabung ke Benfica pada akhir musim 2010–11 sesudah habis masa peminjamannya di [[Vitesse]].
