Pada awalnya hendak dioperasikan masing-masing dengan 10 kereta per set, namun hanya dioperasikan dengan 8 kereta per set akibat terbatasnya panjang peron (pada saat itu). Kereta ini merupakan KRL yang hampir sama dengan KRL [[Tōyō Rapid seri 1000|Tōyō Rapid 1000]], karena KRL tersebut merupakan modifikasi dari KRL Tokyo Metro 5000.<ref>Majalah KA Edisi Juni 2014</ref>
