''My Brilliant Life'' berkisah tentang hubungan antara Dae-soo yang canggung dan Mi-ra, gadis cantik yang bermulut kotor. Mereka berusia tujuh belas tahun, ketika Mi-ra hamil. Anak mereka, Ah-reum, lahir, tapi didiagnosa telah mengalami kelainan genetik [[progeria]], yang membuat usianya cepat tua. Beberapa tahun kemudian, Ah-reum berusia enam belas tahun, tapi tubuhnya terlihat seperti kakek berusia delapan puluh tahun.
