English: Levels of estradiol (pg/mL), norethisterone (pg/mL), and testosterone (ng/dL) over 30 days following a single intramuscular injection of 5 mg estradiol valerate and 50 mg norethisterone enanthate in oil (brand name Mesigyna) in 32 healthy young eugonadal men (age 19–53 years). Testosterone was determined with chemiluminescent assays while estradiol and norethisterone were determined with radioimmunoassays.

Estradiol levels increased from a baseline of ~26 pg/mL to a peak of ~305 pg/mL at day 3 (+1073%). Norethisterone peaked at a level of ~379 pg/mL at day 4. Testosterone levels were maximally suppressed from ~503 ng/dL at baseline to ~30 ng/dL at the lowest point (day 7) (–94%).
