Richard Buckner Gruelle (22 Februari 1851 – 8 November 1914)[1] adalah seorang Impresionis Amerika pelukis, ilustrator, dan penulis, yang paling dikenal sebagai salah satu dari lima seniman Hoosier Group. Karya agung Gruelle adalah The Canal—Morning Effect (1894), sebuah lukisan dari Indianapolis, Indiana skyline, tetapi ia juga dikenal karena cat air dan lanskap lautnya di Gloucester, Massachusetts, daerah. Pada tahun 1891 penyair Indiana James Whitcomb Riley menugaskan Gruelle untuk mengilustrasikan dua puisinya yang lebih terkenal, When the Frost is on the Punkin dan The Old Swimmin Hole, yang diterbitkan dalam Neighbourly Poems (1891).
