Produksi sunting
Pada tanggal 15 Mei 2014, Nicolas Cage bergabung dalam film ini.[1] 25 Agustus 2014, Sarah Wayne Callies juga bergabung.[2] 5 September 2014, Veronica Ferres menyusul bergabung dengan film ini.[3] 4 September 2014, Lyriq Bent menyatakan kesediaannya bermain.[4] Proses produksi film ini dimulai pada bulan September 2014.[5]
Release sunting
Pada tanggal 6 Agustus 2015 diumumkan bahwa RLJ Entertainment telah membeli hak distribusi film ini, dan menetapkan tanggal rilis secara terbatas pada 23 September 2015, dan juga mengedarkan melalui video on demand.[6] Namun akhirnya, film tersebut dirilis secara terbatas pada 25 September 2015, juga melalui video on demand.[7]
Reception sunting
Pay the Ghost menuai ulasan negatif dari para kritikus. Di Rotten Tomatoes, film ini hanya menempati rating 14%, berdasarkan 21 ulasan, dengan rata-rata rating 3.8/10.[8] Sedangkan Metacritic, memberikan skor film ini pada kisaran angka 23 dari 100, berdasarkan 9 kritik, yang mengindikasikan bahwa film ini, secara umum kurang digemari.[9]
