Løvøya, Telemark

Løvøya adalah sebuah pulau di Ormefjorden di munisipalitas Porsgrunn, Norwegia.

Pada pulau Morten Thrane Esmark ditemukan sebuah mineral hitam yang dikirim ke ahli kimia Swedia Jöns Jakob Berzelius untuk pemeriksaan pada 1828 untuk analisis lebih lanjut. Berzelius memutuskan bahwa mineral tersebut mengandung elemen baru, yang ia beri nama torium berdasarkan Thor, sang dewa guntur Norwegia.^[1]^[2]^[3]
