Tulisan Aztek

Tulisan Aztek atau Nahuatl adalah sistem penulisan pra-Columbus yang memadukan penulisan ideografi dengan logogram fonetik spesifik Nahuatl dan tanda silabik^[1] yang dipakai di Meksiko tengah oleh suku Nahua. Mayoritas kodeks-kodeks Aztek dibakar oleh para tlatoani (kaisar) Aztek karena alasan ideologi, atau oleh rohaniwan Spanyol setelah penaklukan Mesoamerika.^[2] Kodeks-kodeks Aztek yang tersisa meliputi Kodeks Mendoza, Kodeks Borbonicus, dan Kodeks Osuna.
