Messerschmitt Me 163 Komet adalah pesawat pencegat bertenaga roket milik Jerman. Didesain oleh Alexander Lippisch, pesawat ini adalah satu-satunya pesawat tempur bertenaga roket yang pernah beroperasi dan pesawat berawak pertama jenis apa pun melebihi 1.000 km/h (620 mph) di tingkat penerbangan. Desainnya revolusioner dan dengan kinerja yang belum pernah dilihat sebelumnya. Pilot uji dari Jerman Heini Dittmar yang menujinganya pada awal Juli 1944, kecepatannya mencapai 1.130 km/h (700 mph), menjadi rekor kecepatan penerbangan tidak resmi yang tak tertandingi oleh pesawat bertenaga turbojet lainnya selama hampir satu dekade. Lebih dari 300 buah pesawat dibangun. Namun, Komet tidak efektif dalam perannya sebagai pesawat pencegat dan bertanggung jawab atas penghancuran hanya sekitar sembilan hingga delapan belas pesawat Sekutu yang dibayar dengan kekalahan sepuluh pesawat Jerman.[2][3] Selain dari kerugian tempur, banyak pilot terbunuh selama pengujian dan pelatihan memakai pesawat ini.[4]
