Farewell My Concubine (film)

Farewell My Concubine adalah sebuah film drama Tiongkok 1993 yang disutradarai oleh Chen Kaige dan salah satu karya utama dari gerakan Generasi Kelimat yang membawa sutradara Tiongkok ke kancah dunia.[2] Mirip dengan film Generasi Kelima lainnya seperti To Live dan The Blue Kite, Farewell My Concubine menampilkan tentang akibat politik Tiongkok pada pertengahan abad ke-20 pada kehidupan individual, keluarga, dan kelompok, dalam kasus ini, dua bintang dalam sebuah kelompok opera Peking dan seorang wanita yang mendatangi mereka.

Film tersebut adalah sebuah adaptasi novel karya Lilian Lee. Lilian Lee juga merupakan salah satu penulis permainan latar dari film tersebut.

Farewell My Concubine sampai saat ini masih menjadi satu-satunya film berbahasa Tionghoa yang memenangkan Palme d'Or Cannes.[3]
