== Sejarah ==
Dibuat pada abad ke-6. Gaya lukisan menunjukkan asal Siria atau Palestina (bahkan bisa jadi Mesopotamia). Kodeks ini dibeli pada tahun 1899 di kota [[:en:Sinop, Turkey|Sinope]], [[Turki]] (sehingga dinamai menurut kota ini), oleh seorang perwira Perancis dari seorang wanita tua Yunani.<ref name = Gregory>{{Cite book | author = [[Caspar René Gregory|C.
