Mutu started his career in [[Romania]], playing two years for [[FC Argeș Pitești|Argeș Pitești]] and half a year for [[FC Dinamo București|Dinamo București]], before joining [[F.C. Internazionale Milano|Internazionale Milano]] midway through the [[1999–2000 Serie A]]. After only 10 games at [[F.C. Internazionale Milano|Inter]] Mutu left for [[Hellas Verona F.C.|Verona]] and then [[Parma F.C.|Parma]], for which he scored 39 goals in the next three years. His excellent form brought him a €22.5m transfer to [[Chelsea F.C.|Chelsea]]. Because of the breach of contract saga for failing a drug test, the player was released from his contract, and returned to [[Serie A]] to join [[Juventus F.C.|Juventus]]. After the [[2006 Italian football scandal]] and the relegation of [[Juventus F.C.|Juventus]] to [[Serie B]], Mutu decided to join [[ACF Fiorentina|Fiorentina]]. Here he spent the biggest part of his career and offered the best and most constant performances, playing for five years for the [[Florence]] squad. In the summer of 2011, Mutu joined [[Serie A]] side [[A.C. Cesena|Cesena]]. After their relegation to [[Serie B]], he joined [[Ligue 1]] club [[AC Ajaccio|Ajaccio]].
