Chesterton dididik di [[Sekolah Santo Paulus (London)|Sekolah Santo Paulus]], kemudian masuk [[Sekolah Seni Slade]] dalam rangka menjadi ilustrator. in order to become an illustrator. Slade adalah sebuah departemen [[University College London]], dimana Chesterton juga mengambil budang sastra, namun tidak meraih sebuah gelar dalam subyek manapun.
