Dalam insiden Teluk Sidra pertama, 19 Agustus 1981, dua Su-22 Fitter milik Libya buatan Rusia[1][2] ditembak jatuh oleh dua F-14 Tomcat milik Amerika Serikat di lepas pesisir Libya.
Latar belakang sunting
Pada 1973, Libya mengklaim Teluk Sidra sebagai teluk tertutup dan bagian dari wilayah perairannya.[3][4][5]
