Hong Seok-cheon

Hong Seok-cheon (lahir 3 Februari 1971) adalah seorang aktor, pesohor dan pemilik restoran asal Korea Selatan serta anggota dari Partai Buruh Demokratik. Dia menyebabkan kontroversi di negara asalnya saat ia menyatakan diri sebagai gay pada tahun 2000, dan tetap selebritas gay yang paling menonjol di Korea.[1][2][3]

Pada tahun 2015, Hong mengumumkan bahwa ia berencana mencalonkan diri sebagai kepala daerah dari Kantor Distrik Yongsan di pemilihan daerah 2018.[4] Setelah tinggal di Distrik Yongsan selama sepuluh tahun, ia mengatakan ia bertujuan untuk mempromosikan ruang budaya untuk seniman muda dan usaha kecil, sambil memberikan kesejahteraan bagi minoritas seksual. Jika terpilih, ia akan menjadi orang gay pertama untuk menjadi seorang pejabat pemerintah di Korea.[5]
