Polypedilum adalah genus yang berasal dari famili Chironomidae. Lalat ini juga merupakan bagian dari ordo Diptera, kelas Insecta, filum Arthropoda, dan kingdom Animalia.
Lalat ini dapat ditemukan habitatnya di perairan maupun semiperairan.
