Boehmeria adalah genus dari 47 spesies tumbuhan berbunga dalam keluarga jelatang (Urticaceae). 33 spesiesnya merupakan spesies yang berasal Dunia Lama dan 14 spesiesnya lagi berasal dari Dunia Baru. Spesies merupakan tanaman keras herba, semak, dan pohon kecil. Meskipun berkerabat dengan genus Urtica yang tampak serupa, spesies dalam genus ini tidak memiliki bulu yang menyengat.
Budidaya dan Kegunaannya sunting
Salah satu spesiesnya yakni rami (Boehmeria nivea) merupakan tanaman serat yang penting. Ada juga yang digunakan sebagai tanaman hias. Spesies Boehmeria digunakan sebagai pakan oleh larva beberapa spesies Lepidoptera, termasuk ngengat spesies Bedellia boehmeriella yang secara eksklusif memakan Boehmeria grandis.
